Baths w/ Fashion Club – 21+

Wiesenfeld has been recording original music for more than 15 years, most notably under the moniker Baths. Will has had albums, collaborations and remix work released on dozens of independent labels, and toured around the world. He maintains a philosophy of keeping his work as personal as possible, with the majority of his music created in his home studio. For his fourth full-length album Gut, Will embraces a new personal ethos of writing “from the stomach” versus writing from the heart. “I’m sketching my strongest and most pervasive feelings out quickly and treating their roughness as gospel, then exploring them in greater detail with the added sheen of time and perspective.” The most impressive Baths album of Wiesenfeld’s career, Gut spans a breathtaking spectrum of lacerating hopelessness to lustful joy, inspired by the more unforgiving oeuvre of post-punk and noise music, and any music that works its magic through blunt force rather than careful introspection. — Fashion Club is the recording alias of Los Angeles artist Pascal Stevenson, who originally conceived of the project while on tour with her band Moaning. Listening to Fashion Club’s self-produced second album A Love You Cannot Shake feels like being caught in the crossfire of a profound beam of light. You can’t help but feel both enlivened and exposed as its aberrant synth lines, artful strings and disfigured guitars swell into larger-than-life crescendos, which evoke a divine yet probing spotlight. You can bask in the glow of a towering light with self-assured poise, but there’s also something inherently uncomfortable about an imposing light source—revealing yourself to onlookers (and oneself) comes with varying levels of anxiety and self-doubt. This is the tension at the heart of A Love You Cannot Shake, a record of lush radiance and otherworldly scope, with each track functioning as its own twinkling, transportive realm.

Scheid (The Palace of Tears), vocalist Dru Allen and bassist Cindy Coulter (both from This Ascension). Ethereal/shoegaze meets ambient and electronic influences to create something new and distinct. This show will be the release party for their album Among the Trees on Sett Records. Darkswoon is Jana Cushman (guitar, vocals), Norah Lynn (bass), and Rachel Ellis (keys, synths, beats). A Portland based trio hailed as a fierce electronic prowess and shoegaze-inspired guitar textures. As such, the band channels both the detached chill of early Fever Ray and Eurythmics as well as the churning menace of Modern English…both incredibly powerful and irresistibly catchy at once. ELECTROHAZE FROM THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST Bridal Veil is an American four-piece band from Portland, Oregon inspired by the emotional pangs of the 90’s — the last era to know what life was like without a cell phone in every hand.  Led by guitarist/soprano/flutist Emily Overstreet, the band weaves between ethereal dreampop similar to Cocteau Twins and heavy walls of noise akin to My Bloody Valentine. She is joined by guitarist and producer Jordan Richter, bassist Aaron Krause and Raymond Anthony Hughes on drums.
Together they perform a memorable live set that delivers vulnerable songwriting paired with well-placed force

OMARI & FRIENDS: Feat. Omari Jazz, sqip, VNPRT – 21+

Omari Jazz Addae, electing to simply go by Omari Jazz in his creative endeavors, is a Portland, Oregon based composer, sound designer, and producer. Simultaneously prolific and measured in his output, the 29 year old polymath is well known by fans for his consistently sporadic releases of compositions. In 2020, fans were rewarded in the form of album “Dream Child”, a 13 track sonic exploration of ritual and the collective subconscious (among other themes) that Bandcamp’s editorial staff described as ‘one of the most immersive beat tapes in recent memory’.   Since then, listeners have found most access to Jazz’s productions in real time through his regular twitch streams. These streams have garnered support from thousands of music fans and fellow artists in the past several years, with viewers sometimes tuning in to participate in beat challenges using samples crafted by the artist himself, other times simply to be inspired by his relentlessly inventive production/composition process. This process has lent itself to a number of remixes for artists like Hiatus Kaiyote and Son Lux.   As a composer, Jazz has completed projects for a slew of brands including Red Bull, Nike, Apple, and John Deere. He’s also ventured into composing scores for film, notably penning the score for 2023’s “Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land”. The film has seen a fruitful festival run, screening at Tribeca and Black Star and winning the prize for best feature film at the Detroit Black Film Festival. He also led the sound design for Metro Boomin’s 2023 short film “Heroes and Villains” in collaboration with Gibson Hazard.   In 2024, Jazz released the eponymous album “Black Decelerant” with collaborator Khari Lucas aka Contour on RVNG International- a label celebrated for stewarding boundary pushing works by contemporary songwriters and composers. The album was favorably received by critics, appearing in the Wire Magazine, MOJO, and a number of other domestic and international publications. On his own, Jazz has performed supporting & alongside artists such as MNDSGN, Kiefer, Ross from friends, Pink Siifu and many others.   Jazz is currently working on his next album, and is also the co/executive producer of Lucas’ recent offering ‘Take Off from Mercy’, released on Mexican Summer in 2024.

Moody Idaho brings their haunting fusion of grunge grit and atmospheric depth to this special evening, celebrating the release of their first album “Dream House.” Their set weaves evocative vocals with melodic bass, driving drums, and soaring guitars that perfectly complement the evening’s ethereal atmosphere. Opening the portal into this dream-like state is Jacqueline Hyde, whose emotionally charged sound and reflective storytelling explore the delicate balance between light and shadow. Dream House warps reality into something beautifully strange. Let the swirling lights, shimmering installations, and waves of sound pull you through the looking glass into a world where the lines between dreaming and waking blur into one hazy, sublime night.

(SOLD OUT) Clipping: Dead Channel Sky Tour w/Counterfeit Madison – All Ages

Clipping (Daveed Diggs, William Hutson, and Jonathan Snipes) are very story-oriented. They deal in ontology and narrative as much as beats and rhymes. Across six albums, along with countless singles, remixes, and collaborations, Clipping has been approaching making music like writing science fiction since the band’s conception. Two of their records have been nominated for Hugo Awards (one of science fiction’s top literary prizes), and a novella spun-off from their music was nominated for a third. As Clipping, they’ve collaborated with as many of their fellow experimental noise artists as they have fellow rappers.  While their last few projects have been record-long concepts like the classic prog rock of old, new album Dead Channel Sky is mixtape-like, a carefully curated collection of songs in which every track is a love letter to a possible present. Like a mashup of distinct elements, the overall concept is there, but the result is brief glimpses into a world rather than an overview of it. It sounds crisp and classic at the same time. When something strikes us as retrospective and futuristic at the same time, it’s a reminder of how slipshod our present moment truly is  On Dead Channel Sky, Clipping texture-map the twin histories of hip-hop and cyberpunk onto an alternate present where Rammellzee and Bambaataa are the superheroes of old; where Cybotron and Mantronix are the reigning legends; where Egyptian Lover and Freestyle, are debated endlessly, and Ultramag and Public Enemy are the undeniable forefathers; where the lost movements of 1980s and the 1990s are still happening: rave, trip-hop, hip-house, acid house, drum & bass, big beat—the detritus of a different timeline, the survivors of armed audio warfare. That war at thirty-three and a third, its atrocities imprinted upon yet another generation, what someone once called, “the presence of the significance of things” without a hint of ambiguity.
