Seance Crasher, Colin Jenkins, Simple Shapes – 21+

Seance Crasher is the recording alias of Portland artist Kevin Rafn, accompanied in studio and on stage by Lia Gist, Scott Harlan, and Tyler Verigin. Through moody lyricism and anachronistic synth strokes, the band creates a sonic milieu of blue-eyed-soul and Band Aid era pop. Unique narratives are at the heart of each tune. After teaming up with Portland record label Literal Gold, Seance Crasher released their first full-length LP, Air Apparent in the Spring of 2023. They are currently at work on a follow-up studio album slated for early 2025.Colin Jenkins is a purveyor of crystalline, catchy and funky future-pop. Colin Jenkins blends together 70’s soul and 90’s R&B under a bed of modern production. Jenkins will be releasing an album this coming summer of 2024. 10 songs of upbeat heartbreak and loungey jazz chords. Jenkins’ band features local slay-dragons Alexander Thomas, Justin Chase and Machado Mijiga Self described as “Kinda moody, kinda groovy,” Portland-based indie rock outfit Simple Shapes walk the line between a revival of classic late 90s/early 2000s indie rock and modern pop-rock production.

Plankton Wat, Hell Nancy, Sherbet Tone (solo set) – 21+

Plankton Wat began as an ambient solo guitar project in 2001 by Portland OR musician Dewey Mahood (Eternal Tapestry, Rose City Band, etc). In 2010 Mahood signed with legendary Chicago record label Thrill Jockey, and has since released four albums with them, as well as touring nationally and across Europe. After the 2021 release of Plankton Wat’s critically acclaimed album Future Times, the project evolved into a Psych Rock supergroup with Dustin Dybvig (Brass Clouds, Rose City Band, etc) on drums and synth, James Shaver (Abronia) on bass, and Victor Nash (Orquestra Pacifico Tropical) on trumpet. The group is influenced by 1970’s Progressive Rock, Post-Punk, and Afrobeat. Described as “Grunge Country” or “Brutal Country,” Hell Nancy is the songwriting and guitar of Lauren Joyce, the drumming of Sun Mor, and the bass and arrangements of Isaac Pierce. Hell Nancy was formed in 2017 at the Waypost in Portland, Oregon, where the three met via open mics.Plus a solo set by Stephen Leisy of Sherbet Tone!

After several years of lateral experimentation in sound design, South African producer CHEE erupted into the international bass scene following a handful of successful self-releases and releases through the Dutch label, UNDERSLUG. Once the music began circulating, his sonic innovation and advanced production skills quickly gained the attention of many prime figures in the industry, gaining him support from Noisia, Amon Tobin, DJ Craze, Mat Zo, Culprate, G Jones, and more. His assured arc of fresh ideas led to the release of his first full-length album “Fear Monger” on SATURATE RECORDS in 2017, demonstrating 12 tracks of raw low-end heavy material that set the precedent for CHEE tracks to come. In 2020, CHEE made his debut on Zeds Dead’s imprint label, DEADBEATS, releasing a 5 track EP featuring his popular song “Vultures”, gaining loads of DSP playlisting support and support from DJs across the festival circuit. Since he arrived with ‘Winona’ in 2016, DJ BORING has continued to push forward and demonstrate his abilities on stage, in the clubs, at festivals and behind-the-scenes in the studio. He has an innate ability to blend seemingly disparate styles. His debut on BBC Radio 1’s legendary Essential Mix and an amazing Boiler Room appearance at Lost Sundays exemplify this DJ style, but tune in to any of his streams, recorded sets or, better still, see him in person and you’re bound to be left buzzing by his sheer dynamism. Consisting of two singers and two producers, they have released the majority of their music without ever setting foot in the same room.KOPPS: Never ones to take themselves too seriously, the Rochester-bred trio would tell you that their sound is like if Britney Spears and KoЯn f–ked, and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong. Anchored by Patricia Patrón’s sultry vocals, the band has a knack for pop sensibility that they immediately flip on its head, evoking a titillating mix of electro, pop and nu metal.
