CANCELED: Quiet Bison, Slurgeon – 21+

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THE FORECASTED INCLEMENT WEATHER. ALL BUYERS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REFUNDED. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE AT A LATER DATE!Quiet Bison’s music dissolves the barrier between genre and sound. After his breakthrough debut EP Trials and Tribulations sent a shotgun blast into the dance music atmosphere, the Portland- producer captured the attention of the entire industry. Furthering his ascent into the fantastic world of avant-garde production Quiet Bison released his sophomore EP Sequence in 2019. The 4-track EP captured the attention of NEST HQ, Skrillex’s former media giant who subsequently hosted Quiet Bison for a NEST HQ MiniMix and interview. Sequence was followed by an official remix for What So Not’s single “We Can Be Friends” featuring Herizen. The tail end of 2019 was a fiery one for Quiet Bison as he scored an inclusion on Flume’s Hi This Is Flume playlist, joined Alison Wonderland on her Radio Wonderland podcast, and later debuted his live set opening for What So Not. Wrapping up a busy 2019, Quiet Bison delivered his third studio EP Nightfall which garnered praise from tastemakers like Billboard Dance, Future Classic Recommends, and Dancing Astronaut, just to name a few. Although his 2020 supporting tour alongside DROELOE and Chet Porter was cancelled amid a global pandemic, he still firmly holds his place. Following a series of singles including a feature from Flume-collaborator Reo Cragun, Pauline Herr and many more, Quiet Bison release ‘Dawn’ in February of 2022. Quiet Bison has since gone on to the album to sold out venues across North America with Alison Wonderland and Flume.

Starover Blue (single release), The Eldest Young (album release), Ezza Rose – 21+

PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of our customers, we will be requiring proof of full COVID vaccination (or negative rapid COVID test), to enter the venue until further notice. More details at holocene.org/vaccine The nostalgic tones of a Juno-106 combine with ambient layers, sparkling guitars, and airy, bittersweet vocals to define Starover Blue’s sophomore LP Ordinary Magic. Much like Spacegeist, their 2016 debut, the record is a synth-saturated opus, drawing from classical music, dream pop, and folk, as well as sci-fi and dystopian fiction. Tracks “Janeway,” “A B Y,” “Anemone,” and “The Howl Makes No Sound” showcase the group’s penchant for textural experimentation and subtle odd meters. Founding members Kendall Sallay and Dirk Milotz began their musical partnership in 2007 in the San Jose State University music department. Live, the band pulls from a multi-faceted discography, appealing to fans of acts such as Cocteau Twins, Wye Oak, Beach House, The Joy Formidable, Low Roar, and The Antlers.Book of Spells, the latest full-length release from Portland experimental indie rockers The Eldest Young, chronicles a restless young man’s search for connection, meaning, and love, taking sonic cues from Mt. Joy, Tame Impala, and the National. Through contemplative, danceable tracks full of shimmering synths, grooving basslines, and drawling vocals that ring like mantras, we follow our protagonist as he ventures deep into the world of mysticism in hopes of combatting his loneliness and discovering a sense of purpose. Will he find what he’s looking for? Vortex Magazine writes of Ezza Rose: “Her beautifully delicate, mournfully classic voice floats amongst the loosely bound, misty particles in the air and our minds and fills the cracks with a sound that’s chilling and comforting, all at once.”
