Charlie Burg – ALL AGES – w/ Genevieve Stokes

Where were you the first time you heard Charlie Burg’s Infinitely Tall? Or, rather — where will you be? What does that place mean to you? Hopefully it’s somewhere special.  Infinitely Tall is about spaces — the ones that make, break, shape, and uplift us. The debut album marks a shift for the Metro Detroit, Michigan-born singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.  Across this album’s 15 songs, Charlie augments his bedrock of lo-fi soul and lush indie-pop with exciting new textures: the forward motion of driving post-punk, sparkling electronic abrasion, and the melodic grip of romantic 90s indie-rock. Burg, who plays nearly every instrument on the record, marries the golden-era perfectionism of his early music with an enticing new fondness for chaos. In the touring world, Charlie created a foundation for himself through supporting artists like Ashe, Moonchild, and Jeremy Zucker in 2019 across the US and Europe. He even traveled as far as Indonesia to play Jakarta’s renowned Java Jazz Festival. These strong beginnings led to sold out headline dates playing 500+ capacity major market rooms in Spring of 2022.Infinitely Tall is Charlie’s first music since 2020, and first body of work since 2019. Built from the ground up, it’s an ode to home that, hopefully, feels like a home for you — wherever you may be. On the heels of this new record, Charlie is gearing up for his first proper headline tour of the U.S. and Europe, followed shortly by major festival appearances coming in 2023. with support from Genevieve Stokes!VIP Meet and Greet Package tickets available! ella jane – the marginalia tour – Early show! – All Ages – w/ Alix Page

MEET AND GREET PACKAGE AVAILABLE! THIS INCLUDES:(1) GA Ticket (1) Signed Copy Of Exclusive marginalia Zine (1) Early Entry into the venue for an exclusive acoustic performance (1) 10 Minute Q&A Session (1) Meet & Greet For as long as she can remember, Ella Jane has been writing in the margins. Growing up, annotation was a way of understanding and processing the culture that surrounded her, a means of collecting words and stories that would become foundational to the songs she would write. Conversely, songwriting became a way of marking up the experiences in her own life, a process she’d often document and share in real-time with an ever-expanding online community.Having amassed a legion of fans and followers ahead of her freshman year at Tufts University, Ella entered one of the most exciting periods of her life confined to her dorm room as a result of the ongoing COVID pandemic. With an excess of time at her disposal, she spent much of the year fine-tuning a batch of songs that she had brought with her from high school, which would eventually become her debut project, THIS IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.The EP arrived the following summer via FADER Label, catching the ears of fans such as Elton John, who praised follow-up single “Calling Card,” saying “if there’s any justice in the world, it will be a big hit for Ella Jane… I really love it.” Sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles soon followed, as did a cross-country tour with Peter McPoland and an appearance on Netflix’s Heartstopper soundtrack.Spurred by the momentum, she dropped out of college and moved to Brooklyn to give the music all of her time. The songs she wrote during this period radiate with the coming-of-age urgency of that moment, and all the identity-affirming head rushes that came with it. Teaming up with producer Mike Irish, they aimed to keep the pop sensibilities of her earlier work as well as steer them toward a grittier place more akin to the sound of her alt-rock heroes. They landed at Marginalia; a concise offering of her most propulsive and assertive material to date that establishes Ella Jane as a formidable storyteller all while nodding to the process that got her there.

Holocene and Megalith present: Hotel Neon, Patricia Wolf, Benoit Pioulard, VIUL – Early show! – 21+

PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of our customers, we will be requiring proof of full COVID vaccination (or negative rapid COVID test), to enter the venue until further notice. More details at holocene.org/vaccine Hotel Neon is the Philadelphia-based trio of Michael Tasselmyer, Andrew Tasselmyer, and Steven Kemner. Together they create music to get lost in: cavernous, reverberating guitars and synthesizers, matched with visual projections in an immersive audio/visual experience. Since forming in early 2013, the group has released 9 full-length studio albums and several EPs. Hotel Neon has toured and collaborated with the likes of Benoit Pîoulard, The Sight Below, Simon Scott, and Marcus Fischer, filling everything from living rooms to cathedrals with their densely layered walls of sound.Patricia Wolf is a musician, sound designer, and DJ residing in Portland, Oregon. Wolf uses electronics, voice, and field recordings to produce non-linear compositions that draw listeners to a hypnotic inner world. Her use of melody and repetition manipulate the listeners’ perception of time, conjuring vivid textures, and atmospheres. Her debut album, I’ll Look For You In Others was released in February 2022 on Past Inside The Present and was quickly followed up by her 2nd LP See-Through which was released in May 2022 on the Spanish label, Balmat. Benoît Pioulard is the primary audiovisual project of Michigan-born, Brooklyn-based Thomas Meluch.  With six LPs on the renowned kranky imprint, as well as a catalog of works for Universal (UK), Morr Music (DE) and others, he has constructed a unique aesthetic steeped in the textures of analog decay and pop song structure using chiefly guitar, piano and tape processing.  He has also built an extensive archive of Polaroid photographs (many of which grace his album covers), the first official collection of which is the hardcover book “Sylva”, released in 2019.  For live performances Meluch constructs towering loops, seamlessly weaving in gentle guitar-and-voice songs for hypnotic, unbroken sets typically backdropped by film work from like-minded visual artists.Viul is a Brooklyn, NY-based composer and ambient musician. His latest release is Konec (A Strangely Isolated Place, 2022), a collaboration with Benoît Pioulard written and recorded in the earliest days of the pandemic and imbued with the concurrent dread, stillness and strange beauty of an abruptly-halted world. Viul’s previous releases include Bright Decline (Disques d’Honoré, 2019) and Outside the Dream World (Past Inside the Present, 2019).

POSTPONED: Peach Tree Rascals: Does a Fish Know It’s Wet Tour – All Ages – w/ SEB

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED BY THE ARTIST. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE FOR EARLY NEXT YEAR. ALL TICKETS PURCHASED WILL BE HONORED FOR THE NEW DATE. STAY TUNED! Peach Tree Rascals are a collective, dedicated to collaboration and community. They are a brotherhood, coming together to be more than the sum of their parts. Comprised of producer/mixer Dominic “Dom” Pizano,rappers-singers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph Barros, and creative director Jorge Olazaba, the group started as a teenage “do-it-yourself” attempt at music, based out of a shed in San Jose, California. With most of the members being second generation Americans (the sons of Palestinian, Filipino, and Mexican immigrants), they quickly realized a deep, natural connection with one another, and grew into a single, harmonious unit.  As the band grew, they added Jasper Barros, the mastermind behind some of the guitar tracks on their biggest hits and EJ Atienza, Jorge’s right-hand man assisting him with all things creative. 16 songs and a debut EP later, the group has accumulated over 300M streamsand have received certified gold for their track, “Mariposa,”which also reached #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart.  The Peach Tree Rascals have stayed true to the DIY mentality they had when they first started working together. As Issac puts it, “The future of PTR depends on what we wish to accomplish. It’s totally in our hands and work ethic, but we know we want to be as big as possible.” Signed to 10k/Homemade Projects, the Rascals are poised to ascend to even greater heights and are gearing up for some highly anticipated new music and live shows this year.
