53 Thieves β w/ KOPPS, Andrew Ash – 21+
An electronic oriented blend of hip-hop, R&B, and disco, 53 Thieves are a transatlantic quartet making music from four separate areas of the world. Consisting of two singers and two producers, they have released the majority of their music without ever setting foot in the same room.KOPPS: Never ones to take themselves too seriously, the Rochester-bred trio would tell you that their sound is like if Britney Spears and KoΠ―n f–ked, and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong. Anchored by Patricia Patrón’s sultry vocals, the band has a knack for pop sensibility that they immediately flip on its head, evoking a titillating mix of electro, pop and nu metal. With a flair for the dramatic, KOPPS visuals and stage performance dabble into a creepy, twisted and often bizarr-o glam vibe but always with a wry sense of humor.Andrew Ash is a genre-fusing, award-winning Pop Singer/Songwriter emerging from the queer-pop scene of Portland, Oregon. His ability to recreate instrumental soundscapes reminiscent of his 80’s inspirations such as Phil Collins, combined with his knack for writing heart-warming, catchy melodies for contemporary pop music with vintage feels, has helped him achieve many accolades, from some of his songs being featured on MTV’s ‘The Hills’ and ‘The Jersey Shore’ to performing on the main stage of Portland PDX Pride.

Chase Shakur: The It’s Still Love Tour – w/ The Arti$t – All Ages

Chase Shakur’s vision is both simple and unendingly ambitious. To put it plainly, the Atlanta-born artist wants to change the sound of R&B. On his new project, “it’s not you, it’s me”, the talented singer-songwriter transcends genre signifiers to conjure up a unique world. Armed with a deep grasp of the South’s musical history—hip-hop, funk, soul, pop, and R&B—Shakur synthesizes these various elements into a forward-thinking sound deeply rooted in Black culture. The new project is an expansion of his critically acclaimed 2022 release, “It’ll Be Fine”, and a mesmerizing meditation on life after a toxic relationship. On “it’s not you, it’s me”, vulnerability mingles with toughened scars, creating a work that situates Shakur as steely and willing to learn from his own failures. After deciding to pursue music full-time and drop out of school, Shakur was barred from living in his childhood home. He couch-surfed and spent days in various studios, resting between songwriting sessions. This era helped him forge collaborative bonds with other producers and songwriters, some of whom went on to figure in his Forever N September collective, a group of musicians who helped craft the sound of “it’s not you, it’s me”. The resulting project feels diaristic and transcendent. “it’s not you, it’s me” is a reflection of Chase Shakur’s career thus far, particularly his mental toughness and ability to keep pushing forward all in pursuit of that one goal: To change the shape of music.TWO TYPES OF VIP PACKAGES ARE AVAILABLE! Jim White & Marisa Anderson – w/ Methods Body – 21+

Thank you to our event sponsor Revival Drum Shop!Jim White and Marisa Anderson share an abounding appetite for musical exploration. White,as a member of Venom P Stinger, Dirty Three, and Xylouris White, is well known for his creativeand idiosyncratic drumming. His singular abilities have also led to collaborations with Cat Power, PJ Harvey, and Bill Callahan among others. Anderson’s prolific output as a solo performer, her mastery of traditional folk and blues forms and her abilities to make them entirely her own hasestablished her as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking guitarists of the last decade. White and Anderson’s considerable technical skills are used in the most inventive and unconventional manner on their debut duo recording, The Quickening. The duo’s friendship and shared explorative nature inform these warm and daring improvisations. The Quickening’s remarkable performances take the listener on a journey of exuberant discovery. White and Anderson are instrumentalists whose voices are unmistakable and spellbindingly lyrical. Anderson unravels guitar traditions from across the globe into atmospheres all their own through improvisations and melodic lines that transform with each iteration. White implements an array of sticks, brushes, and techniques that imbue each rhythmic passage with its own distinct personality. Together their melodic flourishes cascade and twist upon one another, at times trading conversational exchanges, and at others drifting in unison as if lost in the same train of thought. Ecstatic pieces like “Gathering” and “The Other Christmas Song” harken back to Anderson’s playing with the improv-heavy Evolutionary Jass Band and carry with them a sense of perpetual motion. That feeling of urgency and maximalism is in turn contrasted by the open spaces and quiet subtleties of “Unwritten” and “Diver”. The idea of a collaboration developed while on the road together in 2015, Anderson playing solo and White playing with Xylouris White. The Quickening began at the Portland studio Type Foundry in late 2018, where the duo initially agreed to meet and improvise and record. Happy with the recordings, the duo headed to Mexico City and into Estudios Noviembres, a time capsule of a studio from the 70’s that had been largely closed before some young engineers took it over. The “slight disorientation” of working in less familiar environments mirrored their willingness to plunge headfirst into exploring new sonic territory together. Anderson purchased a new nylon string Ramos-Castillo guitar from a Mexican luthier just ahead of recording which leant to the spontaneity of “The Lucky” and “The Quickening”. The duo did not rehearse or perform together prior to the recording sessions; as White puts it, “it’s good to suspend disbelief at this stage of playing.” The Quickening (released on Thrill Jockey in 2020) is an improvised work guided by emotional intuition and executed by players whose mastery of their instruments is undeniable. The elegance of Jim White and Marisa Anderson’s highly attuned collaboration lays in each player’s ability to empathetically spin their collective experience into music of potent and boundless beauty.METHODS BODY (Portland, OR, USA) creates original sound art and music using custom tuning systems, involuted polyrhythms, and the cadences of language. John Niekrasz (Ecstatic Peace, ESP-Disk’) and Luke Wyland (The Leaf Label, Hometapes, Crammed Records) use bespoke live-sampling technologies and meta-cognitive compositions to inhabit waves of subliminal melody and deep, uncanny grooves.
Hyphen Hyphen – w/ Seance Crasher – Early show! – 21+

HYPHEN HYPHEN : AWARD WINNING TRIO AND GIRL-FRONTED, QUEER POP/ROCK BAND WITH A STRONG MESSAGE Hailing from the coastal town of Nice, Southern France, meet the explosive Hyphen Hyphen and their uncompromising performance π₯ Bridging the French Riviera and California, the Award-winning pop/rock trio HYPHEN HYPHEN released their third album “C’est La Vie” in January 2023, followed by stadium banger “Too Young” which was TF1’s official song for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 in July. This new album is full of prestigious collaborations such as Glen Ballard (6 times Grammy Awards winner) on “Don’t wait for me” ; or mix engineers Mark «Spike» Stent (Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, etc.) and Dan Grech (Lana del Rey, Moby) marking the first time either of them had worked with a French artist. Armed with such an impressive cast, this third album is also the most personal for Hyphen Hyphen. Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/HYPHENHYPHEN/ Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/hyphenhyphen/?hl=fr Youtube :https://www.youtube.com/user/HYPHENHYPHENofficialwith local support from Seance Crasher! The newest single from Seance Crasher (the recording alias of Portland musician, Kevin Rafn) is about the stranger on the other end of the crisis line. “Charlie” is the disembodied voice we cling to when we’re lost, like a flashlight sweeping the dark.t’s also an extremely catchy, danceable homage to 1980s pop, complete with three synthesizers and a heavily reverbed tom solo. These elements might seem incongruous on first blush, but they’re situated in a tradition. Think: Tears for Fears meets Purple Rain. “I appreciate that kind of contrast,” says Rafn. “Serious subject, upbeat backtrack.”The song’s producer, Cam Spies, (Reptaliens, The Shivas, Radiation City), acknowledges the full-on throwback of the sound. This is not a daylight track. It’s midnight. “There’s steam coming from a sewer grate. There’s a sax player in a tunnel.” But as closely as “Charlie” hues to that sound, the high-stakes narrative delivered by Rafn’s dreamy vocals (backed by Lia Gist) produces a kind of interior dissonance that restrains the song from all-out kitsch.”It’s autobiographical,” Rafn says. “It’s about the narrator’s perceived intimacy with that stranger on the other end.” One lyric goes, ‘I hear his voice / though I know he didn’t have a choice,’ and therein lies the rub. For the archetypal “Charlie,” answering the phone might be a calling, but at the end of the day it’s also a job.The cover art by Kevin’s brother, Daniel Rafn bears an oblique resemblance to the Betamax sleeve for Miami Vice, but was in fact directly lifted from the most recent edition of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, a corresponding ’80s nostalgia tying the music to its theme (while inadvertently commenting on the state of psychiatry). Other contributors include Alexander Thomas on percussion, and photos by Todd Walberg.”Charlie” signals a shift from the psychedelic rock riffs of Seance Crasher’s previous records, toward more focused instrumentation with a solidly 1980s sound. This song will be lodged in your ear long after you’ve stopped listening.

New listeners and long-time fans will be transported into his creative mind when listening through the 5-trsack masterpiece, and it will come to life through a vibrant and city-specific live experience coming to a number of venues around the US this summer. “I think I’ve been battling this thing where even when yelling at full volume, I’ve questioned if I’m using my voice. With this project, I wanted to spend some time wrestling with the different perspectives that often come with exploring expression and self love, and the harsh and beautiful realities that those things entail. From friendship, romantic love, to self compassion I am excited to power into a time where I hear my voice, and even better…I actually love it.” – chromonicciwith local support from Julia Logue!
The Mary Wallopers – w/ Sam Shackleton – 21+

Seven-piece band, The Mary Wallopers were formed by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy and their friend Sean McKenna traveling the length and breadth of Ireland singing and collecting songs. Their early live performances exuded a raw energy and their self-titled first album perfectly captured their sound and ethos, one filled with warmth, intimacy, chaos and enough sparks ready to light any fire. They are working on a new album which will be released later this year.
